This was really good and also got me feeling both saddened and nostalgic. I am coming out of a pretty dark three months due to two surgeries, one planned and one emergency. The second one statistically has a high mortality rate and I was blessed to be quickly diagnosed and operated on. It also coincided with the first anniversary of the cancer death of my youngest sister. I loved my life before this period of time but sometimes what I had seems too elusive to grasp at any more-even little pieces of it. All these thoughts are what your post evoked in me.💕🥲
I would say as a word of advise to my past self do not take one second for granted with the only best friend you will ever have that was your perfect - person ...
I should have danced with you more - I thought we danced alot - what I wouldnt give for another dance ...
My Valerie Zita - I miss you , I love you , and I cannot wait till I see you again ...
I have found a new song that says all what you mean to me ... twinkle twinkle little star by Christina Perri ... You are my rainbow and you do you know how much you are loved ....
There are times I feel as though I am barefoot surrounded by ash on a scorched ground. You and I are holding hands and the only images of colour in that picture. I long for the times when our family was in tact, and days filled with love and laughter. I am eternally grateful for you.
This makes me think of how with Shannon’s death it was not just one child that was lost too soon, but two.
You’re so right ❤️🩹💜
always enjoy your total honesty, Danielle xx
Thank you, Jessica 💜🫂
Thank you for this poignant post. You described so well the remaking of the self after loss.
Thank you, Janice. I’m so glad it resonated 💜

I long for those times too, mom. How could we not?
