We often start therapy sessions by asking clients, “Where should we begin?”
When I started Grief Casseroles six months ago, I asked myself that same question: Where should I begin?
When Toby encouraged me to share my writing, neither of us imagined I’d be writing about his death. We both assumed I’d be writing about my dad’s death. And my sister’s. And the things that happened after I lost them both.
And then I lost Toby.
Whose death do I start with? Who was I before this loss?
And that loss. And that one.
