AI Policy: Everything here is 100% AI-free
When the worst happens to someone, we leave casseroles on their doorstep. Not having to worry about food during a crisis is super helpful. Any grieving person will tell you this.
I can’t send you the kind of casseroles you can heat up the microwave (also, I hate cooking), but I can offer you something else, and I can offer it from the heart. In these casseroles, I hope to offer you richness and depth; layers of contentment, wonder, gratitude, and curiosity existing alongside grief, pain, trauma, fear, and loneliness. Creating this kind of writing entirely from scratch is a significant time and energy investment, which is partly why you see me publish 2x per month instead of the more common newsletter schedule of once per week.
Everything here is 100% AI-free.
AI might be good at certain things, but it is not (and never can be) human. It can’t feel, “know,” or understand. It has no empathy, history, depth, or wisdom. It has no experience. It can’t connect to us and we can’t connect to it. For these reasons (and many more) I do not use it.
On occasion, I use stock photos (usually from Unsplash). I do my best to ensure these are not AI, and I always acknowledge the artist.
If you connect to something here, you can trust that it’s entirely human.
