Again Danielle amazing work. I love the humour you introduced. For the record, I don’t yell.

The way you weave curiosity, care, and recovery through something as ordinary as tending seeds is really striking. I love how learning what plants need becomes a mirror for learning what you need, without forcing a lesson onto it. The fence moment says so much about trust growing in real time. This leaves a strong sense of what it means to choose life again, slowly and on your own terms.

Tears well up in my eyes, unbidden, after your well-crafted post. Gardening helped me process a lot of the grief stuff.

I’m so glad to hear this story moved you, Allison. Thank you for taking the time to share this with me. πŸ’œ

Gardening surprised me… I got so much out of it, and I’m not even talking about crops (although a few of the veggies did well). It helped me with my grief, then and now β€οΈβ€πŸ©Ή

Your writing is so gorgeous. It's bright and alive and like, the opposite of so much other AI-ick. I'm so happy I found you, thank you for the pug fence and the alivening of the plants and the way you bring it all to us with your words.

"I sourced a fly." That cracked me up!

A charming piece, and such a beautiful garden.

It's really lovely to hear you read this πŸ’— I was obsessed with Venus Flytraps as a kid lol, I believe the school librarian had one. And the garden Toby built for you is gorgeous, wow.

Thank you πŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œ

Maybe the librarian had one to stop the flies from crawling into the fluorescent lights hahaha

Thank you so much!

And yesβ€”creative projects can be such an important part of healing! I really wasn’t expecting to enjoy gardening as much as I did, and I don’t know that I would have given it a chance had I not been reeling from what I’d endured.

And it was so wonderful and special to share my newfound love of plants and gardening with the man I ended up marrying.
